The Amy Maxwell Series

Amy Maxwell’s got four kids, a useless husband and crusted applesauce on her yoga pants that haven’t seen the inside of a gym in over a decade. She’s convinced her teenage daughter is up to no good, her ten year old can’t stop chattering in her ear and her oldest son has befriended a teenaged boy twice his age who is a tad bit strange. And don’t even get her started on having a toddler when you’re in your late thirties. She just can’t keep up. Forget tired; she’s exhausted and feeling unfulfilled, dissatisfied and like a disappointment to everyone; her kids, her parents and most of all, herself.

To relieve her stress, Amy finds herself fantasizing about everything from the pool boy next door to finding out that her daughter was switched at birth. She can’t help her thoughts, but she figures, if they’re in her head, they can’t hurt anyone else, right? When Jason, a very sexy forty something year old single father moves in across the street, Amy finds her fantasy world has gone into overdrive. When Amy and her 13 year old daughter, Allie, stumble upon the body of their neighbor, shot to death in her living room, Amy finds herself thrown together with Jason in the most unpredictable way. Amy finds herself bumbling around Jason, trying desperately to stop her fantasies and her underlying attraction towards him as this who done it mystery slowly unfolds. And Amy soon realizes, nobody is who she thinks they are…even Amy herself.

Amy Maxwell still hasn’t caught up on laundry, her daughter Allie is still acting like a rebellious teen (and schooling her younger sister in that art), the two boys are still causing her to rip her hair out by the roots with their antics, and her husband Roger is STILL sitting in his arm chair uselessly engrossed in a reality show marathon. To add to her already mounting stress, Amy has decided to go back to school to get a degree! Yeah, yeah…she’s GLUTTON for punishment.

And so Amy’s new quest for a career in law enforcement, coupled with the Seven Deadly sins, puts Amy in a position she’s never been before…the back of a trunk, bound and gagged. That’s right…Wrath, Greed, Lust, Sloth, Envy, Pride, and Gluttony are the reason she’s in her current predicament. And what’s more, they’re not all her sins, but the sins of everyone else around her including her oh so perfect sister, Beth.

Find out how the Seven Deadly Sins lead Amy into a tangled web of mistakes and missteps (and the trunk of a Chevy) in this hilarious sequel to “The 8 Mistakes of Amy Maxwell”.

Amy Maxwell just knew something would go wrong if the whole family went on vacation—she had a sixth sense about it. A week of fun in the sun at an all-inclusive resort on the beach should be a much deserved relaxing time for the whole family, right? Not for Amy. As any mother can attest to, prepping for vacation is akin to Chinese Water Torture. There’s a dead fish in her toddler’s suitcase, her teen doesn’t want to go somewhere without Internet access, and her preteen has completely outgrown her bathing suit. She’s wishing for a vacation from her vacation before the wheels of the plane even touch down on the runway.
Amy finds herself dreaming of a solo vacation after things don’t get much better when they arrive at their destination. The hotel room doesn’t look like the one in the brochure, the kids are more interested in the WiFi password than the gorgeous sandy beaches, and there are some shady characters staying in the hotel. What’s more, Roger is acting suspicious. Amy finds out that he’s been meeting up with a perky young blonde who just happens to be a former student. On top of that, she discovers her old pal, DEA agent Jason, just happens to be at the same hotel, sending her overactive imagination into overdrive. Something doesn’t add up for Amy. Unable to stop herself from snooping, our favorite scatterbrained, busybody mom of four finds herself stumbling upon another mystery. And this one proves to be a little too close to home…even in the Caribbean.

Amy Maxwell has a knack for getting into situations that require intervention. Specifically, intervention from DEA agent Jason Collins, who has saved her more times than she would like to admit. After the last incident in the Caribbean that almost got her killed, her husband has begged her to mind her business and stay away from trouble. He’s going to be furious when he finds out about the mess she’s in now.
In her defense, Amy didn’t go looking for trouble this time. In fact, she really tried her best to stay away from trouble. The problem is, trouble found her—in the form of a Prada-wearing soccer mom, who is now pointing a gun at her in the middle of the grocery store, two days before Thanksgiving.
Who would have thought that joining a playgroup with her “fifth child” might result in Amy’s untimely death, sandwiched between cans of tuna and boxes of pasta?

Today is Amy Maxwell’s fortieth birthday. Instead of gifts, she got dilemmas. Four dilemmas to be exact.
Dilemma number one: How to deal with those bittersweet and melancholy feelings of her oldest child graduating high school and going off to college…while navigating the endless paperwork and trying not to have a heart attack at the price tag.
Dilemma number two: How to deal with her sister marrying Amy’s own knight-in-shining armor Jason Collins…in Amy’s own backyard, turning her life upside down in more ways than one.
Dilemma number three: How to deal with the bachelorette party from hell that she planned which not only turns out to be more risque than she anticipated, but leaves one guest MURDERED.
And finally…Dilemma number four, the big one: How to deal with being trapped in the murderer’s closet with her elderly mother (who does not know how to whisper) and a shelf full of pointy shoes precariously hanging over her head.
Can Amy solve her dilemmas and escape, before the killer discovers her and Amy ends up with dilemma number five…how to plan her own funeral when she’s already dead.

Amy Maxwell is pregnant. Not only is she pregnant, she just lost her job. And not only is she pregnant and jobless, she hasn’t told her husband about either. Life is going to be busy for Amy Maxwell over the next 9 months. She’s trying to find a new job, smuggle a puppy past her pet unfriendly hubby, AND catch a package thief.
Meet everyone’s favorite scatterbrained, mystery solving PTO mom, Amy Maxwell, BEFORE she had kids…in this prequel to the Amy Maxwell series. Believe it or not, even kidless, Amy still manages to get herself into tricky situations. Like giving birth in the back of a dog catcher’s van.

YA Novels

Adults insist that you never completely remember your childhood. They say that as the years pass by, those little details that once captured your undivided attention become fuzzy around the edges. As time marches on, the sharp memories start crinkling up like a piece of newspaper burning in a campfire; first you can just make out the sentences, and then, the white hot fire laps at the pages, blurring them and obscuring the actual words. Until all that you are left with is a fine white ash and the vague memories of what used to be.
As long as I’m breathing, I know I will never forget my sixteenth summer. It’s been years, but that summer is etched finely in my memory. That was the summer I finally kissed a boy, found the body in the basement, and discovered that keeping secrets just might kill you. And believe me, that isn’t something you forget too easily, no matter how hard you try. And I sure as hell have tried.

She had the life that any other girl would be jealous of.
But that was all before HE showed up. He was the Quiet Boy…the boy in the back of the class, his greasy untamed locks covering his mysterious dark eyes and his origins unknown. He was the one without friends, the one all the others avoided in the halls.
Not Charlie, though. Drawn to his mystery, he intrigued her. Despite her teacher and friends’ insisting she avoid him as well, the Quiet Boy’s friendship became a tantalizing challenge, one that she was willing to chase with no regards for consequences. Until the Quiet Boy and his secret nearly cost her everything.
